Thirty Years Ago Today
Thirty years ago today, Little Shop of Horrors opened at the Orpheum Theater in New York's lower east side and horticulture has never been the same. To celebrate, I thought I'd share a few favorite photos. In no particular order, we have:
The entire cast, including Howard, with Ed Koch, former Mayor of New York City. This was right after an annual Mayor's office event in which a popular show lampoons city government.
A snippet from Howard's notebook with a lyric sketch of the song that would become Somewhere That's Green.
Two pages from international productions of Little Shop, one from Scandanavia (I assume) and one from Japan.
And finally, a picture of Howard taken the summer of 1984 in his very own Little Shop T-shirt (and slicked back hair).
Thanks, How.
